We must learn how to live with our dreams: broken dreams that leave us deeply hurt inside; dreams we want so badly that we will even claim they are from God Himself; dreams from the deepest parts of us that we think no one else knows about. All of our dreams of pain, passion, and pride must be surrendered to the Dream Giver, the Great Source that provides all we need for this life. He is so jealous for our hearts, for all that we are.
Dreams represent our significance, identity, acceptance, and security. How can I function, if I remove these things from my life? I cannot. With the surrendering of desires and death of dreams comes emptiness. It is not simply good enough to surrender and remove. You must also acquire and replace. With your heart of surrender giving all yourself, pursue also the heart of the Father. Learn Him. Know Him. With the death and removal of your dreams purpose to be filled with new life.
Inappropriate dreams and an improper focus on good dreams causes strife, chaos, dissension, discord, and pride about the whole situation. A proper focus on and synthesis to the heart of the Father brings peace, harmony, cooperation, humility, and a revived spirit!

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. (Romans 12:16-18 ESV)
What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, "He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us"? But he gives more grace. For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite. (Isaiah 57:15 ESV)
But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30 ESV)
But I call to God, and the Lord will save me. Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan, and he hears my voice. He redeems my soul in safety from the battle that I wage, for many are arrayed against me. Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. (Psalm 55:16-18, 22 ESV)
